Mad Minutes

By Skyler

Mad Minutes are...
Where you practice your math. The higher levels have more math facts on a page.

How much time?
Every level you get one minute.

How come you do it?
You do it to get faster on your math facts. The levels get harder.

How many levels?
There are 1-99 levels. To pass a level you have to finish all the math problems in the one minute you have and, you have to get them all right. If you do, Mrs. Kelley writes "Wow!" on your paper. If you get a "Wow!" that is good.

Plants and Pots

By Amie

Hi, I'm Amie. We made something for Mother's Day. We worked very hard on the plants. We worked from the beginning of the day until snack. There was basil, oregano, sage and chives. The chives did not grow. It would have been beautiful.

The pots that we made had our mom's favorite things painted on them. It was fun. I made one with lions.

Heavy Gas
By Kyle

Hi, I'm Kyle. We did a project that we called "Heavy Gas". Here is how we did it.

First, you put five candles into a one foot long container. It should be tipping up the long way about an inch. Second, light the candles. Third, mix baking soda (one tablespoon) and vinegar, and guess what we made? We made carbon-dioxide (gas)!

First ,before we mixed up the gas, Mrs. Kelley (our teacher) put the ingredients into a bottle. Guess what happened when Mrs. Kelley slowly poured the gas onto the candles? They all went out! One by one in about ten seconds.

So you can try this at home but...you must have a parent to light the candles and keep a far distance away from the gas, because you breath it out, NOT in.

By the way go to www. Lafayetteregional.org This writing will be here forever. So don't worry. Bye!
